We have some new additions to the whole wedding party. Ken Rorabaugh, Chris's cousin is our newest addition to the ushering crew, and Alicia Rorabaugh (Ken's sister, Chris's cousin) will be helping to distribute programs before the ceremony. Yippeee! And because I don't think I ever mentioned, my friend Angie Poellinger is our guestbook attendant, so that's very exciting as well. :) I feel like I've been very slow in getting some of these positions filled, but at least I'm getting there!

This week is an aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggghhhh! Kind of week. Nothing wedding related, but still hectic.

This weekend, Chris is doing the rather well known Mt Washington Hill Climb. This is a pretty famous race here in the States. The pro cyclists do only a little better than 8 miles an hour for the whole race.

Sooooo.... Brakes need to be done before we take the car up & down Mt Washington. Work, I'm in training Wed & Thurs which means that I won't be able to get out early at all when we head for NH on Thurs and I won't get my lunchtime workouts in. The game plan is to hit Wilkes-Barre Thurs night, and then up to Mt Washington on Friday, Chris races up the mountain on Saturday, and then Saturday night we get to hang out with my friend Kathy and her hubby John in MA. Then it's 9 hours back home on Sunday. Tuesday my brother and a fellow seminarian are stopping over on their way to CT (ironic, no?). So somewhere amidst the chaos, I'm going to have to clean. (Chris has volunteered readily to help, yet another reason I love this man). Wednesday I'm helping to stuff envelopes for Pittsburgh Cares, simply because I didn't do the math on what was going on before that. If anyone needs me next Thursday, I'll be passed out. :) I'mnotpanickedI'mnotpanickedI'mnotpanicked....

This past weekend was pretty nice! We went (briefly) to Gettysburg, and zipped through a tour of the battle grounds. Both of us weren't feeling very good, and the drive in through the packed streets of a hundred small towns was stressful. Apparently PA didn't realize Gettysburg was in the state or something because you have to travel 40-60 miles of secondary rds (depending on the direction from which you approach) to get into the vicinity. It's not like they need a freeway through the park, but how about a little help here!

Then it was off to Maryland for a time trial on Sunday for Chris. While Chris was racing, Freddy and I found the Appalachian trail. I was wandering around, imagining myself the intrepid explorer with her trusty dog, when said trusty dog's ears went up and he went bounding out of sight. After about 10 minutes of frantic calling, I was to the point of having to go back and tell Chris what was going on (he was finishing up and didn't have clothes, drinks, or a clue as to what was going on). I started slowly walking back towards the parking lot when Fred came crashing through the undergrowth, tail wagging and doggy tongue to his knees. He must have found a deer. Anyway, we hustled back to the car and were only a few minutes late meeting Chris. But I'll bet my heart rate got every bit as high as Chris's on this particular race day! I will say the Appalachian trail was just gorgeous, I wouldn't mind going back when I have a bit more time!
