Talking to Sean yesterday, turns out I have a bigger reading audience than I thought. Umm...Hi Houston! I'm sorry that today's blog is a bit more mundane...

So now we're in the the-devil-is-in-the-details stage of planning. Kauffman's called yesterday evening to set up an appt to register for gifts. We're trying to finalize details on the rehearsal dinner and who to invite/not invite. Do we invite 120 out of towners or do we have just the wedding party? Do we have a unity candle at the ceremony? I'm thinking not. Lovely sentiment and all that, but I'm thinking simpler for the whole event. So far the big stuff was really easy, but I suspect is the smaller questions that will end up being the toughest.

Last night I was pulling weeds in the garden (obviously not having learned my lesson from the poison ivy I got this weekend) and contemplating the boom in children 10 and under in the neighborhood. Apparently over the winter, half of the 10 and under crowd in Pittsburgh moved to Shady Dr. One child spent an hour talking loudly with/yelling at...himself. Another small herd went up and down the sidewalk on foot, skateboard, scooter, and bike. The good news is they were having a great time, but I never did find out what was keeping them so entertained. Then there are the great stories we've experienced with the two boys next door. They're the cutest things, but they're all boy. One day they were throwing rocks at squirrels in the trees...with the rocks landing on our cars. Another day, Tyler decided to play jump rope with a chain...and smacked himself in the back of the head with it. Maybe instead of a dozen boys for our Tour de France team (we need some support crew in there), we'll shoot for a smaller number - like a girls tennis pair.
