Chris and I went to a baby shower/bike race last night for our friends Emma & Henry. These are the friends otherwise known as "The friends who introduced us". Anyway, I talked to another friend, Robin, there, and commissioned her to make a cake topper. Robin's an artist, and she's pretty sure she can make a bicycle built for two before December 11. So yeah! I finally have a way to put a bike into our wedding!

Oh and the bike race was won by a 13 year old girl in the final sprint. We're going to be saying "We knew Sinead when..." in a few years, if she doesn't totally burn out.

Other bike related wedding stuff...at the bike races this weekend, I stocked up on the bike socks. It's a big deal, every year there are people in Philly selling the the seconds and stock overruns at a price of 3 for $10. Anyway, I found a pair that are apparently left over from a pro racer's wedding. Complete with bride & groom! Perfect, maybe I can wear them under my wedding dress. I will forgo the bike shoes under the dress though, too loud.

And a much belated mention in the blog: At the beginning of the year at the local training crits, everyone picks up their numbers for the season. I thought it was really sweet that Chris picked 11 for our wedding day.
