Cheryl & Chris's Wedding Blog
Wednesday, June 23, 2004
Since things are pretty quiet on the wedding front at the moment, I'm going to take shameless advantage of my blogging power for other reasons. I want to say thank you to my friend Sean, the St John Vianney Young Adults (Houston, TX!) and to my parents. My brother called last summer to say that there were a group of families in his area who home-schooled their kids, and were looking for help in getting books. One thing led to another, and we set up a wish list on Amazon. I figured this way, people could order the books themselves and know that I wasn't taking off on vacation to Cancun. Anyway, enter the YAs, and my parents. With help from them, including a recent $100 donation from the YAs, we're up to 141 books that have been purchased for the families. Or since I'm a math geek, for the 21 kids involved, we're talking about roughly 7 books per child. Cool, no? At this point we've bought History, Math, Science, Religion, and Latin books, with Spanish books next in my sights.
So thank you!
