Sanity? What sanity? I just realized how full my schedule is getting for the end of the year. For starters, I'm taking some certification classes for APICS (supply chain stuff, shipping, logistics, suppliers, etc) which I'm supposed to spend 5-6 hours a week preparing for. This lasts 9 months to a year, and will hopefully help me if I end up supporting the supply chain group again at any point. Then starting 9/9 we have our 4 pre-wedding classes every Thursday night. So the schedule works out that my certification classes are from 7-8AM on Thursday mornings, and the pre-wedding classes are 7-9:30PM Thursday nights. ick. Then I wanted to sign up for swimming at the local high school (roughly 1/2 mile from my house, I walk when the weather is good) to start easing myself back into the tri mind set. I want to do some tris next year! Anyway, the swim classes are on Tues nights starting the last week of September. Eeks.
But fortunately, this weekend was nice and quiet. Unfortunately it was so quiet we didn't make it to the Men's Wearhouse for tuxes. It was nice to veg out on the sofa Sunday watching "The Shining" (only minor nightmares, thank you!), and then go out to dinner with some friends. We'll shoot for tuxes tomorrow evening.
The other cool thing this weekend was I did a leg of the doggy railroad. Basically it's a group that transports dogs from kill shelters in one part of the country, to homes, no-kill shelters, or rescues in another part. This weekend I drove Quincy & Keiffer from Bedford PA to Pittsburgh as part of their trek from VA to Chicago. They were such sweet pups that Fred came close to getting some brothers. Then I decided we weren't quite ready for a pack of three in my backyardless duplex. Oh well, Fred will have to continue to look forward to Frick Park trips. Yesterday he met Matteo, and they ran for 1/2 hour straight. Fred slept for the rest of the day, and then this AM still looked groggy. That makes everyone happy!
Back to work...
