I forget whether it was our wedding classes or some tv show (oh no, the wedding stuff is starting to blur together!), but someone was talking about instead of numbering their tables, they were going to name them after cars. So they would a corvette table, a ferrari table, etc. We were joking that we should name ours after cyclists. Table number one would HAVE to be Eddy Mercx. Unfortunately his nickname is "The Cannibal", which may not be very appetizing to those eating dinner there. We could have the Lance Armstrong table, the Tyler Hamilton table, and the Greg LeMond table. Since Chris is into cross (all of a sudden the Kriss-Kross song "Jump" just raced through my mind) there would have to be a Daniele Pontoni table. I've been told I look like Mountain Biker Marla Streb, so she would need to be represented, and Chris' favorite NA woman cyclist is Lynne Bessette, so she would need a table. (Their mascot could be a Bassett named Lynne!) But after much consideration(like 20 seconds), I realized that in addition to meaning nothing to 95% of the people at the reception, it would also be confusing. If you tell someone you're at table 22 you know it's probably near table 21 and table 23. If you tell someone you're at The Cannibal table... Maybe not.
