I have 25 envelopes addressed, and an awakening to the fact that addressing envelopes is probably NOT the hardest part of the invitation job. Dad and I have been working on the maps and info to stuff in the envelopes, and then there is all of the components of the invitation itself. The invitations arrive unfolded and there is a card for the reception which needs to be folded, a response card that needs to be folded, and the envelope for the response card which needs a stamp. All of that gets put into the plain envelope which gets the receiving person's name on it. Repeat 120 times. This may actually end up being the most work intensive portion of the wedding! For those who are expecting the writing to be beautiful calligraphy...um...well let me introduce myself to you first. Not gonna happen. I do have to reiterate my awe for a Houston friend who's wedding is the month before mine. She's going to have 311 invitations, and all done in calligraphy. I believe she's calling in some help, but STILL. That's a LOT of work!

Now for the teeth gritting news moment of the day. I'm getting really sick of politics at this point. Really. And I think Dan Rather and CBS evening news are playing it. The back story: On 60 minutes last week they showed documents purporting to be from GW Bush's commander in the Texas Air National Guard saying that he was getting special treatment. The blogosphere went NUTS. One site actually recreated the document perfectly on MS Word. Another tracked down the wife of the late commander. CNN and some other major news sources picked up the story and Fri night CNN recreated the document on Word as well. More and more, it's looking like CBS is wrong. Anyway, I watched CBS evening news on Friday, and sure enough Dan Rather essentially accused the critics of being right wing partisans with no potential basis in fact. But then, at the end of the segment, his expert who was saying they were legit documents said that without the original, you can't be 100% sure. CBS doesn't have the original. Here's my take (c'mon, you knew it was coming): For those who don't like Bush, there is PLENTY of areas of legitimate criticism - why on earth would you want to make something up? For example: I'm not a big Kerry fan (as in he gives me the total creeps). However, there's an email that's going around which accuses Teresa Heinz Kerry of contributing to radical terrorist groups. I've always emailed the sender back and corrected them. So seeing a major news source like CBS would do the same type of smear campaign that you can get fronm an undocumented email is discouraging. How could they possibly smear a man's reputation based on such questionable documents?! I'm not watching CBS news or 60 minutes in the near future, their behavior is just stupid beyond belief. I've lost all respect for Dan Rather.

Ok, the soap box is back under the desk, and I'm off to work, making the world safe for more computer programs and reports.
