It's criminal day here in wedding world

First Tammie found a great link about someone going to a bridal shop and stealing 300 gowns. Say what? I like the title on the web page - now all they need is 300 grooms! Hey, maybe the thief was just hard to fit! Don't be surprised if eBay starts showing a much larger variety of wedding gowns for sale.

Then I stumbled across this story about how two major department store chains (including one at which I'm registered!) colluded to keep Bed, Bath & Beyond out of the Lennox & Waterford market. Dang it! They've been keeping bargain basement Lennox out of reach! Next we'll find out that Walmart couldn't carry it either.

All is not well in Matrimonial Industrial Complex world.

Ok, I just liked that turn of phrase, Christine used it the other day.

Back to the real world!

Comments:
Wanted to give due credit for the term "Matrimonial Industrial Complex." My husband and I have used it often since first hearing it used by Tom or Ray, one of the brothers who host Car Talk on NPR. The caller was asking in which car they should drive away from his wedding ceremony three months in the future. He preferred his truck. His fiance apparently wanted to rent a limo. Tom and Ray momentarily validated the caller's thoughts about using his own (sentimental??) vehicle, and then quickly went on to convince him that his opinion would not matter, the Matrimonial Industrial Complex had it grips firmly on his bride, and it was time now to accept the limo.
We surmise it is this MIC who lops an extra 400% onto any item related to a wedding. Pencil: $.50. White pencil with your names printed in pink: priceless (or $350 to order gifts for 75 guests, bargain price of only $500 for 150).
