So two interesting links to add to the stack.
The first was forwarded by Sean, and it's absolutely perfect. I ended digging back in the archives and reading a few of this woman's articles about her upcoming wedding. While I've been blessed with far more generous friends and family than she has, I can totally identify with the feelings!

The second is one that's been around the internet. What makes it odd is that our company has always been scrupulously apolitical. No fund raising, no donations, no rah rahs for any candidate, nothing. There have been two pictures hanging in the lobby of our building. The first is of GW Bush and Laura Bush standing over a soldier's bed. The second is GW running with a soldier who's an amputee. I finally went over and read the little tag under the pictures today at lunch. It turns out that Staff Sergeant McNaughton works for my company in the Louisiana Engineering Services group. It's funny how even the most tenuous bond engenders an "Oh wow, I know him!" response. I remember when they were collecting money for him and for his family while he was at Walter Reed Hospital. So it's kind of cool to see the pieces of the puzzle come together. And even though I've never met the man, just makes me hope even more for the best for him.
